> Jharkhand govt launches direct money transfer scheme for small farmers

Vice President Venkiah Naidu launched the Jharkhand’s ‘Mukya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana‘ to transfer money into the bank accounts of farmers. Under the scheme, beneficiaries having farmland of less than 1 acre to 5 acres, will get Rs 5000 – 25000 in their bank accounts.

Bajrang Punia has won the gold medal at Tbilisi Grand Prix. He, who had won a gold at the same event last year as well, prevailed 2-0 over Iran’s Peiman Bibyani in the 65 kg category final of the men’s freestyle competition in the capital city of Georgia.

India and Bangladesh have agreed to set up a Joint Technical committee for optimum utilization of Ganges water. Both the countries also agreed to prepare a framework for an interim water-sharing agreement for 8 rivers including Feni, Gumti and Teesta.

Haryana announced the rollout of Mukhya Mantri Parivar Samridhi Yojana to provide social securities to families. Under the scheme, Rs 6000 per year will be given to each family having an annual income of less than Rs 180000.

> Govt launches program for converting used cooking oil into biodiesel in 100 cities

Indian Oil, BPCL and HPCL launched a program to procure biodiesel made from used cooking oil in 100 cities across the country. Also, Dharmendra Pradhan has launched Repurpose Used Cooking Oil Sticker and a mobile app for the collection of Used Cooking Oil.

> CAIT launches an initiative to accelerate acceptance of digital payments among merchants

CAIT has partnered with HDFC Bank, Mastercard, Common Service Centres of Meity and Global Linkers to launch an initiative Digi Vyapari Safal Vyapari to accelerate acceptance of digital payments among merchants across the country.

> Indian junior shuttlers win 6 medals at Bulgaria Open

India junior shuttlers won 6 medals at the Bulgarian Junior International Championships which concluded in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. Gold medals were won by Samiya Imad Faruqui in women’s singles, the duo of Edvin Joy and Shruti Mishra in Mixed Doubles.
