> Scientist Thanu Padmanabhan gets MP Birla Memorial Award
Physicist Thanu Padmanabhan received the M P Birla Memorial Award 2019 for his contributors to the world of cosmology. The award comprises of a citation, trophy and a cheque for Rs 2,51,000. He was conferred Padma Shri in 2007.

> India lifts SAFF U-18 Championship title for the first time
India defeated Bangladesh by 2-1 in the final of SAFF Under 18 Championship 2019 to lift the title in Kathmandu. India’s Ninthoinganba Meetei was declared Most Valuable Player of the Championsip. The host Nepal had lifted earlier 2 editions of the championship.

> Minor planet named after Pandit Jasraj, the first Indian musician to receive the honour
International Astronomical Union has named minor planet 2006 VP32 (number 300128), discovered in 2006, as ‘Pandit Jasraj’, becoming the first Indian musician to join the galaxy of immortal composers like Mozart, Beethoven and Tenor Luciano Pavarotti.

> Indian junior boys win bronze in Serbia Junior
In Table Tennis, Indian junior boys Raegan Albuquerque and Yashansh Malik paired with the Neteherlands’ Lode Hulshof won the bronze medal at the Serbia Junior and Cadet Open in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

> Saudi Arabia to invest USD 100 billion in India
Saudi Arabia is eying investments in India potentially worth USD 100 billion in areas of energy, refining, petrochemicals, agriculture, minerals and mining. Vision 2030 of Saudi Arabia to result in significant expansion of trade between 2 nations.
